Our annual Toy and Baby Gear sale will be held on Sunday November 9th from 9am to 12pm at the Coolidge Elementary School on 1 Florence St in Shrewsbury. It's like a giant yard sale under one roof. People will be selling their gently used toys, books, clothing, baby gear, etc. There will be refreshments sold by the Coolidge School and admission is $1 to help support our programs. We hope to see you there.
We are going to be starting an Art Class beginning Saturday November 8th taught by Anu, who has studied various forms of art for many years. The art class will be held in Shrewsbury and will focus on Canvas Acrylic Painting. The ages for the class are 5 to 10 years old. The class will run for 6 weeks and the total cost is $60. The class will run until December 20th, as the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend will be skipped. Please email Anu at firstname.lastname@example.org Space is limited to 10 children.
There will be no drop in playgroup this coming Tuesday because of another event we have instead. But please join us the following Tuesday and each Tuesday after that. Our playgroups are open to all ages and there are toys for the kids, coloring, play doh and instruments! Come for the kids to play and meet other moms in the area!
We plan to have a Halloween Party on Tuesday October 28th from 10am to 12pm at the Mt. Olivet Church in Shrewsbury. We hope to have crafts, activities, a costume parade (have kids dress up), goody bags, snacks, etc. But this party can only happen if I have several volunteers to help set up, help with the various stations, clean up, etc. Please let me know if you can help with the Halloween party, as it is usually a very popular event. The party is free for all!
I have heard from several of the working parents that they would like to arrange a get together to meet some other moms (and dads). One of our members, Nicole Cooper, is willing to help out to arrange something but would like help from one or two other moms. Please let me know if you can work together with Nicole to plan something so that you may have some activities to do with your children at night or on weekends. I think there is a real need for this and I would love to see it happen.
