Reminder that the annual Halloween Party is this Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 10-11:30 at Mt. Olivet Church in Shrewsbury! There will be fun for all ages- "craft-or-treating" with treat bags provided, snacks, face painting, festive photo backdrop and fun games like "Witch Hat Ring Toss" for kids to win small prizes. This event costs only $1 per child at the door and costumes are encouraged! Our annual Halloween party is almost upon us this year. We will be having it on Tuesday October 27th from 10am-11:30am at the Mt. Olivet Church on Prospect St. in Shrewsbury. The party will cost $1 and with that the kids will have 'craft-or-treating' where they will decorate a bag that will hold their goodies. There will be games in eluding Witch Hat Toss, there will be several crafts and a photo backdrop set up for pictures. We will also do our annual costume parade. Are you a new mom, have an infant or are you new to the area? Then come join us for a Teddy Bear Picnic. Bring your little one to meet other moms, have some refreshments and just socialize. The cost of the event is just $5 and we will provide some delicious breakfast items for you. The event will take place on Saturday October 17th from 9am to 10am at the Floral Street School on 57 Floral Street in Shrewsbury. The SCDC's 15th Annual Toy and Baby Gear Sale is on Saturday November 7th from 9am to 12pm at the Coolidge School on 1 Florence Street in Shrewsbury. People sell their gently used toys, baby gear, clothing, books, etc. We will have tables available for purchase and cost $25 (before November 1st. and $35 after that date) and you keep everything you make at the sale!! It's our biggest fundraiser and goes towards classes and programming. Also we are adding a couple more things. Admission is $2, but someone will win half the money we collected in a 50/50 raffle. For every table you visit you get a raffle ticket (so the raffle tickets are free!!!). Also we are having several businesses that cater to children there. They will have information and most will have a raffle item. A local Girl Scout troop will also be there selling coffee and baked items. It should be an incredible event. Let me know if you would like to purchase a table. There are typically 300+ people who come every year, so if you have things to sell this is the place to do it!! There will be even be more advertising this year and more enticing for people to visit every table. We will collect $2 at the door and that money will go into a 50/50 raffle. The person who wins the raffle will win half the money that we collected. They get a ticket for each table they visit. this way it creates even more traffic to the sale! I am selling tables for $25 if paid by November 1st. After that date the tables will be $35. You can rent as many tables as you wish. Please contact me at email@example.com to reserve your table.
